We've been home three months this past Monday.
How's she doing, you ask?
Pretty darn great, but far from perfect. There are mild behavioral issues, some attachment stuff, and just the usual kid management hurdles, but overall, she's fit in wonderfully. It's hard to believe all that she has accomplished, especially given that in the last three months we've moved house, settled three kids into three schools (two of them new), and completed her first major spinal surgery.
Um, welcome to America, Rosemary?
She must think we're totally insane, which, of course, we are. But we're hoping and planning for a much calmer way of life come the new year, after her second and we hope final surgery on November 13, her seventh birthday on November 17, and the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Then January. Breathe.
Then we get a new dog. Because we lost Louise in June, and for us, life without beagles is just a little bit bleaker.
Then the new-new-new-new-new-new normal, with just a dash of special sauce, can start.
